Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery) in Dallas

Eyelid surgery is used to remove fat and excess skin from patients’ eyelid areas, correcting drooping lids and restoring a youthful and refreshed appearance to the face. Patients may choose to have an upper-lid-only blepharoplasty, a lower-lid-only blepharoplasty that reduces under-eye sagging, or a combination of both.

About the Procedure

This surgery is performed through tiny incisions made along the creases of the upper or lower lids. During a blepharoplasty at our Dallas surgical center, Dr. Deuber gently removes excess muscle and fatty tissue through these incisions. Drooping skin that contributes to a tired appearance may also be carefully excised at this time. After Dr. Deuber has removed this tissue, he closes the incisions with fine sutures.

Patients who undergo eyelid surgery may also be interested in the facelift or brow lift procedures.

Recovery From Blepharoplasty

Dr. Deuber takes special measures to ensure a swift recovery for his eyelid surgery patients. Blepharoplasty patients typically can watch television and read a few days after surgery and may return to work within a week. The scars left by the incisions will fade over time and eventually appear only as subtle, very thin white lines following the natural creases of the eyes. The results of eyelid surgery can be dramatic because of the importance the eyes have on the patient’s overall appearance; even better, the results are extremely long-lasting and keep patients looking youthful for many years to come.
