What You Can Do During Healthy Aging Month
, people should use September to take stock of their lives. Think of what you would like to do if money was no object. September is a fine month for motivation. The summer has come to a close, autumn and the new year are around the corner. What can you do to make the most of 2018?
Below is some advice on reinventing yourself in September. Many of these suggestions come care of Healthy Aging Magazine. We’ve added a little advice of our own at the very end.
Act Younger Than Your Age
Age is a number, not a set of limitations. Just because you’re middle-aged or in your golden years doesn’t mean that you have to act a certain way. As Healthy Aging Magazine suggests, picture yourself at your best year of life and embody that.
Think and Be Positive
Good vibes make a major difference when it comes to your overall outlook on life. Try to avoid complaining and keep your eye on the better things you’ve got going on. If anything, use September to make positive changes in your personal and professional life.
Cut Negativity Out of Your Life
Sometimes you have friends with toxic moods and are a constant source of complaints. Consider putting distance between you and them to help maintain a positive outlook. Also consider dialing back on negativity on social media or in the news. You may be surprised the difference this makes.
Be Social and Connect with Others
Life can be extremely busy, causing you to lose contact with the people you care about. Use September to reconnect with friends and family. Most importantly, meet up with them in person if possible. Social media is no substitute for being out and about with the people who matter most in your life.
Walk Tall and Stand Straight
Your posture can go a long way toward improving your positivity and overall outlook on life. Stand up straight, avoid slouching while you sit, and walk with some energy. You may be surprised how much these little changes in posture can brighten your overall demeanor.
Smile and Practice Good Oral Hygiene
Your smile will complement your posture and positivity. Be sure to smile politely to strangers, and pass the positive vibes on. Since you’re smiling more, you should practice good oral hygiene just to make sure your teeth are bright, clean, and looking their best.
Find a Creative Outlet
Channeling your worries into something creative can make a world of difference. Have you ever wanted to learn a musical instrument? Take a dance class? Paint or sculpt? If so, there’s probably a class out there with your name on it. If it’s been a while since you’ve been creative, prioritize your artistic side in September.
Consider Cosmetic Treatments to Reinvent Yourself
Reinvention happens from within and can also take place on the outside. If you’ve been considering cosmetic surgery or skin care treatments, September may be the month to do your research and turn those thoughts into reality. We’re here to help you realize your dreams of rejuvenation.
